This page has no sections.

Your child’s school uses Alviyora, and you have an account on it. This page is everything you need — it is short, because there is not much to learn.

Getting in the first time

Use the details the school gave you

Your school created your account and gave you an email address and a temporary password. If they came by SMS, that is the message to look for.

Go to your school’s Alviyora address

The same web address the school gave you. There is nothing to install — it is a website, and it works on any phone.

Sign in and change your password

Use the temporary password once, then set your own under Settings.

Verify your email

Click the link in the verification email. Until you do, the school cannot send you a password reset if you forget it.

If you never received anything

Ask the school to check the email address they have for you. A wrong address is by far the most common reason a parent never gets started. They can also send your details by SMS instead.

What you see

Your dashboard is a card per child, with their grade and class and their headline figures. Children who need attention are sorted to the top, so a parent of four is not scanning for the one whose marks have slipped.

Opening a child gives you:

AttendanceDay by day — present, absent, late or excused
MarksEvery result the teacher has published, per subject, with averages
HomeworkWhat has been set, when it is due, and whether your child has ticked it off
TimetableTheir week
AnnouncementsEverything the school has sent to parents
FeesWhat is owed and what has been paid, where your school collects through Alviyora

Why a mark is not showing

Teachers capture marks and then publish them. Until an assessment is published, you will not see it — that is intentional, so you are never looking at a half-marked class.

If a test was written last week and there is nothing there, it is being marked.

Why you might see only one of your children

Each child is linked to you individually by the school. Missing children usually means one of two things:

  1. The link was not made. Ask the school to link the child to your account.
  2. You have two accounts. This happens when the school created one for you and you also created one yourself, under a different email. They can be merged — ask the school to link your accounts, and you will get an email to confirm it. See Invitations and account linking.

Children at two schools

Both, on one login. You will be asked which school you want when you sign in, and Switch school is at the bottom of the menu.

Reading the attendance figures

Four statuses, and the difference matters:

  • Present — at school.
  • Late — arrived after the start of the day.
  • Absent — not at school, no reason recorded.
  • Excused — not at school, with a reason the school accepted.

If a day is marked Absent that you know was authorised, tell the school — it is a correction they can make, and it changes the percentage.

Homework ticks

The tick against a homework item is your child marking it done. It is their own record, not a submission — nothing is uploaded, and no teacher marks it from here.

It is useful to you for the same reason a diary is: it shows what is outstanding on a Sunday evening.

Changing your details

Settings holds your password, your language — English, Afrikaans, Sesotho or isiZulu — and light or dark mode.

Your phone number and email are on your profile. Keep the phone number current: it is the number the school reaches you on when your child is not at school.

Getting help

For anything about your child — a mark, an absence, a fee — contact the school directly. They can see everything you can see, and more, and they can correct it. Alviyora itself holds no information about your child that your school cannot explain.
